YGS provides a platform to assess your academic potential, benchmark your performance at the national level, gain recognition for your achievements, and prepare confidently for future competitive examinations.
Students declared as Young Genius Scholars from classes 5 till 12 are awarded cash prizes, scholarships, medals, and certificates. In addition, shortlisted students of Classes 9 to 12 become eligible for college fee support of up to ₹10 lakh and a monthly stipend upon securing a Top 100 All India Rank in JEE Advanced (on joining an IIT) or NEET (for admission to AIIMS) in their respective qualifying year, subject to the prescribed terms and conditions.
Students currently studying in Classes 5 to 12 from any recognized school in India are eligible to appear for the examination. Consistently demonstrated exceptional academic performance and believe they can compete among India's future top rankers.
Yes. Students from CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IB, Cambridge, and other recognized education boards are eligible to participate.
The selection process consists of two stages: YGS Written Examination: Students must appear for the YGS written test. JEE Advanced/NEET Performance: To become eligible for the college scholarship and monthly stipend, students must secure a Top 100 All India Rank in JEE Advanced (secure admission in IIT) or NEET (secure admission in AIIMS) in the corresponding qualifying year, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
YGS is an MCQ-based examination. The duration is 2 hours for Classes 5 & 6 and 3 hours for Classes 7 to 12.
For Classes 5 to 10, the exam assesses Mental Ability, Mathematics, and Science, with an emphasis on conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking, comparable to leading national-level Olympiads. For Classes 11 & 12, the exam includes Mental Ability and NCERT-based PCM or PCB subjects to the rigor of JEE Advanced/NEET, as applicable.

Yes. Every student who appears for YGS will receive a digital Participation Certificate, subject to the examination guidelines.
